So great is my veneration for the Bible that the earlier my children begin to read it the more confident will be my hope that they will prove useful citizens of their country and respectable members of society. I have for many years made it a practice to read through the Bible once every year. – John Quincy Adams, 6th President of the United States
Welcome to Reading the Word!
My desire in writing this daily blog is to help others read through the entire Bible. Each blog post will list the particular reading, along with a short encouragement, application, and prayer.
You will notice with this particular reading plan, that the readings are designated by ‘days’ rather than ‘day of the week’. I have chosen this plan as it gives you a cushion of 5 days, depending on the number of days in the month.
One of the greatest discouragements is falling behind. With a little bit of discipline, this reading plan is designed to prevent that.
If you would like to follow this blog by receiving my daily email you may do so by entering your email address in the ‘Follow this blog’ section in the MENU.
Finally, my hope and prayer is that you would share any insight, questions, or general comments you may have from your reading. One of the most encouraging parts reading the Bible is the opportunities to share what you have read and the insight the Holy Spirit has given with others.
Looking forward to hearing from you all!
