“Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan, 11 then you shall appoint cities to be cities of refuge for you, that the manslayer who kills any person accidentally may flee there.
God made provision to protect those who accidentally killed another person, with no mal-intent. These were called ‘cities of refuge’. Jesus wants to be our only and constant place of refuge. Psalms 62:7 says, In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.
Thus no inheritance shall change hands from one tribe to another, but every tribe of the children of Israel shall keep its own inheritance.”
Just as the children of Israel belonged to the Lord, so it is that we belong to Jesus and no one can ever take us out of the Lord’s hands. In John 10:28, Jesus says, “And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”
And Jesus answered and said to them, “ Because of the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. 6 But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female. ’ 7 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9 Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”
It is written in the book of Malachi that God hates divorce. Malachi 2:16 says, “For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Divorce is a violent act because it is the tearing apart of flesh. The greatest prevention that divorce will never happen is first, make sure that the Lord has brought you together and second, make sure that He remains the center of your marriage. What God had brought together, He will keep together!
But Jesus looked at them and said, “ With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”
Salvation by the means of man is absolutely impossible. Salvation is only possible through God who gave His only son that we might be saved. How good He is to have made something that was impossible…possible.
So Jesus answered and said to him, “ What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.”
Jesus knew this man was blind and knew what he wanted. Why did He ask? I believe it is because He wanted to hear from the man himself. The Lord wants to hear directly from us. We should talk to him about everything.
