And it shall be that the rod of the man whom I choose will blossom; thus I will rid Myself of the complaints of the children of Israel, which they make against you.”
The Lord will pick those whom He chooses to lead. Once that choice is made, leaders must be obedient to do all that He says. The perfect example of how to lead effectively is demonstrated by the Lord Jesus who was a servant leader. In John 13:14, Jesus said, “If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” Godly leaders are to demonstrate a willingness to wash the feet of others.
“All the best of the oil, all the best of the new wine and the grain, their firstfruits which they offer to the Lord, I have given them to you.
As I read this verse, I am reminded of how incredibly good the Lord has been to me. He has blessed me with so much, not that there aren’t painful snd difficult things that I go through, but I find that when I focus on Him I am reminded of how very good He is to me. No matter what I am going through, I trust that He will work it for good and that there is something in the midst of every situation to be thankful for.
21 “Behold, I have given the children of Levi all the tithes in Israel as an inheritance in return for the work which they perform, the work of the tabernacle of meeting.
The word tithe means ‘a tenth’. Traditionally, Christians are encouraged to give a tithe, a tenth of their income to the work of the Lord. Such a gift is not mandatory which I believe was God’s intent. He wants us to give our gifts to Him cheerfully. Paul exhorted, in 2 Corinthians 9:7, “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.”
Giving of our money to the Lord’s work is something I believe every Christian should do. It is one thing that the Lord encourages us to test Him in. Malachi 3:10 tell us, “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this,” Says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That there will not be room enough to receive it.” I don’t fully understand this spiritual truth, but I have put it to the test and I have found it to be absolutely true.
Whatever the unclean person touches shall be unclean; and the person who touches it shall be unclean until evening. ’”
When you mix something that is impure with something that is pure, you contaminate that which was previously pure. This is a plain and simple spiritual and physical truth. This is why God who is pure, cannot have fellowship with man who is by nature impure, until something is done to make us pure. Jesus took care of that for us. Praise the Lord!
